Healthy food you will enjoy

It is important that your daily healthy food contains lots of fruit and vegetables, with starchy foods such as pasta, wholegrain bread and rice. It should be low on salt, sugar and fat (especially saturated fat).

Do not take for granted that all food you buy is good for you. When you buy prepared food or are eating out, often the food will have more salt, fat and calories than you might realize. Also you often will eat more than at home. Please note that it is not a waste of money if you do not clear your plate; instead be proud of yourself that you made a healthy decision.

In order to have a healthy lifestyle you will have to make a choice of what to eat with the intention to improve or maintain your good health. You will have to make sure that with your healthy food you consume the necessary nutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, fats and vitamins) by eating the appropriate amounts from all of the food groups.

The Food Groups are mostly classified in 6 parts (1. grain products, 2. vegetables, 3. fruits, 4. dairy products, 5. meats and alternatives and 6. fats, oils and sugar).

It is recommended that you eat certain amounts and proportions of the healthy foods from the different food groups as one of the most important ways to achieve a healthy lifestyle.

It is equally important that, in particular in times of stress, you drink at least 8 glasses of pure cold water per day. Your body will absorb cold water more easily than warm water. You can either buy pure water or install a home Water Filtration System.

Drinking water is the single most important way in losing weight (metabolize stored fat) and getting rid of waste in your body. The more you weigh the more water you will need. For each 5% of excess weight, you will have to drink one additional glass of water.

Furthermore you should also reduce the intake of sugar since this is not healthy food. Do not eat to much candy bars, chocolate, cakes etc. Switch to unsweetened cereals for breakfast and for desert, try to eat fruit, rather than for example ice-cream.
