Various massage techniques

Massage techniques are performed by applying pressure, motion, tension, or vibration to your soft tissue, muscles, tendons, joints, ligaments and organs of your gastrointestinal system.

Using one or more of the available massage techniques is very important to maintain a good health; it increases the circulation of your blood and the flow of oxygen and nutrients and it supports the release of stored toxins. It is important that you drink sufficient water, both before and after the massage, to help your system to flush out these toxins

Massage can cure ailments and it can be preventative, and soothing to your body. It can help to alleviate pain in a particular area of your body, it can improve and/or correct your posture (for example in case of back or neck problems) or it can just help your muscle to relax.

There are many different forms of massages available. You will have to decide which fits best to your needs. You can use different massages for different ‘problems’. You can focus on a specific area of your body, you can reduce your stress and you can support the healing of physical or emotional trauma.

The techniques can roughly be divided in: a) all over (or general-purpose) massages, and b) targeted massages for work on particular areas.
